The former Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Hon. Sylvester Okoro has appreciated the philanthropic gesture of US based humanitarian with golden heart, Mrs. Mercy Grant Obanor as she prepares to kick start the building of gigantic School of Nursing in Evbonogbon, Evboesi Ward of Orhionmwon.

It’s no longer news that the United State based professional Midwife is changing lives and giving hope to the poor and the less privileged in Orhionmwon in particular and Edo atlarge through unprecedented philanthropic gestures.

While appreciating her kindheartedness, during a visit paid on her at her Country home town, Evbonogbon Community, Hon. Okoro said Mrs. Obanor has earlier built a compelling Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital at Evbonogbon Community in Orhionmwon Local Government, adding that the rare legacy is worth emulating by the political class and those who are privileged to have enough in the society, as he appealed to Orhionmwon Sons and daughters in abroad to emulate the humanitarian gesture of the Medical practitioner.

“This is just one of the many philanthropic gestures of the US based humanitarian, She has been into this selfish service for humanity for so long. Though, she is not the noise making type, but I felt it is expedient to call on other well meaning Orhionmwon sons and daughters to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the supreme mother”, Okoro added.

The former Orhionmwon Boss however said Edo State Government led by His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has created a conducive environment capable of attracting investors and Nigerians based in diaspora home, He further said as the immediate past Chairman of the Council, he knows the sagacity, prowess and economic dexterity of Gov. Godwin Obaseki, adding that the Governor does not joke with sincere humanitarian like Mrs. Obanor, unlike some selfish set of persons whom are concerned about their stomach and what they would gain from the Government, rather than adding their own quota towards the development of the society.

Hon. Okoro however admonished the philanthropist not to relent in liberating humanity, adding that Orhionmwon and Edo people will not forget the sacrifice of the Orhionmwon born Philanthropist.
