The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has dismissed a report that its Selection Committee has made due with Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike as the party’s vice presidential candidate.
It hard earlierhad revealed that the PDP Selection Committee, had yesterday, met to satisfy its mandate of suggesting a running mate for the party’s flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Talking on the improvement in Abuja, Wednesday, the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, expressed that the reports in the media that the PDP has picked Wike must be in the domain of gossip. Read Also:BREAKING: Atiku picks Okowa as running mate
He said the National Working Committee is presently investigating the matter and counseling, to think about the best vice presidential candidate for the party in the 2023 elections.
“There is a process in our party, since we are natural. We follow through the process. We perceive the significance of participatory democracy, guaranteeing that each partner and organ of the party is associated with our dynamic process,”
“This is the start of the process, consideration and advisory body need to get to the level where, in discussion with the presidential candidate, they will consider on who is generally reasonable. That process is continuous, so any report of a specific candidate as of now is likely untimely,” he said.
In the mean time, Ologunagba, who accentuated that PDP has launched its process, informed that the NWC will meet today (Wednesday) at 11 AM, saying that it is normal that the advisory board will be considered.
“We do our things in processes, the process doesn’t simply come like you press a computer and find a solution. We follow the interaction, since human components are involved, with interests and concerns. We have thought about all interests of the nation, especially with regards to solidarity and limit,” he said.
Recall that it’s was additionally revealed that the PDP selection committee had suggested the Rivers State governor after 13 of 17 individuals, who went to the gathering at the PDP National Secretariat, yesterday, casted a ballot for Wike. At the gathering, three individuals voted in favor of others, while the chairman, who can cast a ballot when there is a tie, didn’t cast a vote.

After the PDP primaries, Wike had scored 237 against the 371 delegates votes at the PDP president candidate got by Atiku, who won the selection.
