Obaseki’s Former Commissioner Emerges PDP National Delegate For Orhionmwon

Former Commissioner to Governor Godwin Obaseki, Hon.Osazee Osemwigie Ero has been elected as national delegate for the PDP in Orhionmwon ahead of the party national convention.

The former commissioner for art and culture in diaspora affairs, Hon. Osazee Osemwigie Ero who served under the first tenure of Governor Godwin Obaseki was elected the National Delegate for the PDP in Orhionmwon.

Ero who has been a major key stakeholders in promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Benins haven’t served as a member of the state executive until his arrest few months to 2020 governorship election.

Recall that the former Edo State Commissioner was captured by the police in France in Novemberr 2019.

Reports on social media claimed that Osemwingie-Ero was arrested and detained by INTERPOL in France for allegedly being in possession of $2 million. The report trended in December 2019.

The Former Commissioner who was recently released from detection spoke to journalist, said he was a victim of racial discrimination and manipulation of a very corrupt prosecutor of the Italian Justice system as he was on an official trip to Germany, in 2019, to have a meeting on the Benin artifact restitution campaign when he was arrested in Amsterdam and was illegally detained by the Italian government.

According to him, “We have over 300 Nigerian youths in Italian prisons illegally arrested and incarcerated for false allegations of mafia-related crimes.

“The justice framework in Italy is perplexing and corrupt and they control the equity framework because they know no one thinks often about Nigerians,” he noted.
