Members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) appeal panel, on Thursday, started sittings to address complaints emerging from the partys primaries to choose contender to fly the party’s banner at the forthcoming State House Assembly, House of Representatives and Senatorial election in Edo State.
The Chairman of Edo PDP National Assembly Congress Electoral Appeal Panel, Mr. Nduka Ekpu, while speaking to newsmen at the Edo PDP Secretariat, in Benin City, encouraged aggrieved wannabes to move toward the council with their petitions and complaints.
Ekpu, alongside other members from the board, was at the party secretariat in the early hours of Thursday to consider appeal emerging from the direct of the National Assembly primaries in the state.
He said, “We have been here sitting the entire day and we have not really gotten any petitions from any applicants. We have heard from the party chairman, Mr. Tony Aziegbemi and the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, Esq., and are still here waiting.
“If toward the end of today we can’t get any petitions, we should get back to give our report to the PDP National.”
On his part, Chairman of the Edo State PDP House of Assembly Congress Electoral Appeal Panel, Barr. Victor Ebonka noted, “We showed up yesterday on the 25th of May, and today being the 26th of May, we are as of now sitting at the Edo PDP Secretariat anticipating petitions from aspirant. Up to this point, we have not gotten any request; I trust that before today runs out, we will get any and manage it fairly.”
“We likewise need to utilize this chance to thank the state working committee of our party for the favorable climate for us to work,” he added.
In his commitment, the state chairman of PDP, Tony Aziegbemi said the National Working Committee comprised the appeal panel for the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly primaries.
He said, “We typically may not do everything right, so when we commit errors, the appeal panel is where you can proceed to call attention to some of the mistake you probably saw during the process.
