Previous governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi has resigned as a member of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Peter Obi declared his resignation in a letterhead paper dated 20, addressed to the National Chairman of the people democratic party, PDP.
In the letter made available to the public and which was due signed, Obi gave explanations behind his withdrawal from the political race.
Some part of the letter read: “I’m writing to hint you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was passed on to the Chairman of Agulu Ward 2. Anaocha LGA
“Anambra, effective Friday 20 May, 2022. Thusly, am by this letter illuminating you regarding my withdrawal for the PDP Presidential Primaries.

Responding to the renunciation, Mr Edward Akinlade the Group Managing Director of Suru Group, has said that the exit of the previous governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was a tremendous misfortune to the party and Nigeria overall.
