Obaseki gets new AIG Zone 5, urges joint effort to end shared conflicts, land disputes

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Wednesday, got the new Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 5 Command Headquarters, Benin, AIG Lawan Tanko Jimeta, accusing him to team up of the state government to determine shared conflicts and land questions in the State.

The lead representative while getting the guest at the Government House, Benin City, said the new AIG isn’t new to security issues in the state as he was among the group that planned the security design in Edo State.

The lead representative noticed that Jimeta was a chief of police in Edo before he was advanced and posted out of the state.

He noted, “I’m glad that you are back and will assist us with managing the waiting area emergency in the state. Since you left, the issues of mutual conflicts and land debates have expanded cosmically. The Private Property Protection Committee is presently in power and we trust that you will assist us with one of your senior officials in that board to control these young men before they cause destruction.

“We likewise approach you to work with us to address our line issues with Delta State. We encourage you to work with us and carry quiet to the area.”

Prior, AIG Jimeta hailed the lead representative for the supported joint effort with security organizations in the state, promising to work with the state government to further develop security and guarantee harmony in Edo.
