Edo LG Poll: EDSIEC suspends direct of elections

The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) has suspended the direct of the local government races planned for April 19, 2022.

As indicated by an assertion endorsed by Emmanuel Abebe for the benefit of the Chairman of EDSIEC, the suspension of the local government races was because of the limiting request by the Federal High Court, Abuja on the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission.

The commission said all cycles prompting the direct of the decisions have been suspended, forthcoming the consultation and assurance of the Motion on Notice.

He said, “It is thus reported for the data of the overall population that because of the substance of the distribution in the Vanguard Newspaper of 7th April, 2022 by which the Federal High Court Abuja controlled the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission from directing the Local Government Elections in the State scheduled for 19th April 2022, all cycles prompting the lead of the said races are therefore suspended, pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.”
